Tensing Carlos Rodrigues


   After completing M.A. in Economics from University of Bombay in 1978, I began my career as a Lecturer in Economics in Dhempe College of Arts & Science, Miramar, Goa. In 1989 I moved to Govt. College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Sanquelim where I taught till 1994.

            In the meantime I completed Diploma in Business Finance from ICFAI, Hyderabad. In 1995, I took over as District Representative of erstwhile Kothari Pioneer Mutual Fund, overlooking the marketing of the fund in Goa, which gave me an opportunity to work with some of the pioneers of MF industry in India, as they created the market for a new financial product. In 2002 I joined HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company as a Financial Consultant. Till recently I have been associated with marketing of MF and insurance products.

            Since 2003 I have been a Visiting Faculty at Goa University, teaching Marketing of Financial Services and Risk Management  for the MBA (Financial Services)  programme; I have been responsible for designing the curriculum and the study material for these courses. I also teach Fundamental Analysis for the NSE Certified Capital Market Professional programme of NSE.

            Since 2001, I have been doing a column for Navhind Times, the largest English daily in Goa, first weekly and then four times a week. I have also been contributing regularly to DNA (Mumbai), IndiaMicrofinance and Cafemutual. At various points of time I have contributed to studies on Resource Management, Regional Planning and Tourism. I am a member of Regional Planning Association of India, Kharagpur.

            My current interests are in development of multimedia training modules in Resources Management, Applied Economics, Marketing, Risk Management, Equity Research and Personal Empowerment.
